What is it?

A 90-minute free walking tour in Seattle's South Lake Union led by Future Tides Founder & Editor Cara Kuhlman.

A nautical nerd and journalist, Cara is constantly tracking what's happening on our waterways, including Lake Union. For over five years, she's built what journalists call a "beat" or a speciality focusing on the Pacific Northwest maritime community.

There's a lot to see on this unique urban lake. This tour takes attendees deeper, helping you understand all the uses of the lake, the changes underway, and how people afloat and ashore might navigate what's next.

While the tour takes us around the shores of Lake Union, it covers the trends and topics shaping the modern maritime community around the region.

Lake Union, and the environmental, political and commercial dynamics in play there, are a microcosm representing waterways all around the Puget Sound and the West Coast.

Whether you're new to the area or a salty Seattleite, a Future Tides tour is informative, fun and shaped by your questions.

Attendees of all ages and dogs welcome.
