It's easy to lose perspective but I've got a way you can change it up: Future Tides free walking tours in South Lake Union.
Lake Union sits in the heart of Seattle. For many of us, it becomes an obstacle to get around by car, transit or bike (I'm still dreaming of a little foot ferry!). Or an obstacle course for boaters on a busy summer day.
But, it's also a microcosm of our region's maritime community with recreational boaters, commercial activity and an evolving waterfront.
So join me for a walk this summer, and let's pull back some of Lake Union's many layers together.

I've spent over 15 years on the waters surrounding Seattle and am always learning something new. I primarily spend time sailing but never miss the chance to hop on a powerboat, ferry or pick up a paddle.
After college, I worked at a community boating center and at a boat builder. Then my passion for writing led me back to journalism and the scrappy side of media. It's also where I've honed my research, reporting and storytelling skills.
Future Tides allows me to merge my passion for both the maritime community and local journalism. These tours add yet another passion: meeting new people and talking about what's up on the water.
Bring your curiosity, questions and an open ear. I hope to see you soon!
